Dr. Yuvonne C. Brooks was born and
raised in Camden, NJ and served in the
U.S. Navy where she won many singing
competitions.  She earned a Doctor of
Education Degree, taught in the
Maricopa Community Colleges and
received a Building Excellence Award.
In September  2000, UVON produced her
first CD, "Plugged and Unplugged"  
which became the best selling blues CD
for that month at Virgin Megastore,
Arizona Mills Mall, Tempe, AZ.
In April  2006, UVON and The Blues Nights
(at left) performed a pops concert with the
San Marcos Symphony at Gainey Ranch Golf
Club in Scottsdale, AZ.
UVON has appeared twice at the
Monterey Bay Blues Festival.
In 2005, a song co-written and recorded by
UVON, began airing on The King Biscuit Time Blues Radio Show on
KFFT, Helena, AK.  This is the oldest blues radio program in The United States.  
UVON has opened for:  Honeyboy Edwards, Robert Jr. Lockwood, Henry Gray,
Alvin Youngblood Hart, Billy Boy Arnold, Roy Gaines & Dave Meyers, Rudy Ray Moore,
Cephas & Wiggans and others.  She has performed with:  Long John Hunter,
Chico Chism, Michael Burks, and Paul de Lay just to name a few artists.
UVON performs an original theatrical show titled
"Blues and Jazz Revue."
The show presents historical vignettes along with blues, jazz
and show tunes where the audience is invited to sing along.
She skillfully weaves music and catchy phrases, presenting a high
energy, hand-clapping, toe-tapping, interactive performance.
The Blues and Jazz Revue has been performed at schools, colleges,  
public libraries, retirement communities, and theaters.
This show is also suitable for casino showrooms and corporate events.
UVON is available with the Blues Nights, The Blues X 2 Duo,
as a solo artist or with the highly popular band,
BLUZONE.
